Bajirao Mastani

Just like ""Mohair"" Bhansali this time has interwoven a rich fabric like flick with ostentatious sets and costumes all with high luster and sheen....with characters that exudes exuberance with heartwarming and soul stirring dialogues...songs like Ayat and Diwani will literally sway your soul and lift your spirits.... Thus...like Mohair...both Ranbir and Deepika now have become durable and resilient...Have Become Stars Literally(in every true sense of the word)..and will be remembered for ages to come for being a part of the flick which if incomparable to Mughl e Azam...but equally good yes!! Crux?? Just like each time after having watched a Bhansali flick...it's like am highly drunk and intoxicated.. Hence the hangover will last for days to come......

Just dig in and I bet you won't let it down!!!.. Challenge!!!....and that makes Twinkle as a Novelist a winner already!!!... I remember tweeting her once that i loved mrsfunnybones more then the Twinkle in the reel and wish she had not wasted her precious years in acting...she would have been a successful author already(apropos her weekly column with the same name in TOI) You can actually judge a good book by it's back cover or it's Prologue/Foreword!!....in this case you can easily anticipate the laughter this novel promises to tickle your weak bones definitely!!...among various things that she said in Foreword one thing that I really found hilarious was...""a clearer view of life is probably the only silver lining to having to hoist your boobs over your shoulder and getting to the point where not only do you have eye bags, but even your eye bags begin to sag''" It was 1st September and it was Mom's Birthday...so thought of gifting her mrsfunnybones as she must've heard me blabbering an umpteen times about my fav weekly column that Twinkle Khanna writes so brilliantly!!!...so the book which I thought of gifting her kept it for myself instead.... Furthermore as you proceed in one of the chapters she writes...""I get there and mother dearest is sitting with her close friend Honey and is calling up another close one Bubble... Honey..Bubble and Dimple...so does anyone still wonder why I have been lumped with a name that rhymes with sprinkle and wrinkle??!!"" When reading a book or a novel one must remember to finish it in one go or if it's thick then sparing few hours from your precious time each day is a must to enjoy it thoroughly...and that's the basic thing about reading that you can't make a long gap because not only the flow is lost but half of the fun is killed most importantly....So only after having read few of the chapters ..poor mrsfunnybones had been lying unattended since September..and had to start all over again..right from the scratch... Basically it's like reading a personal dairy in which no one is spared from the digs she has made..be it Twinkle herself...her mom...Akki or the political scenario... So as an author Twinkle has done a commendable job in giving you a peekaboo into her working scenario....her personal space(her home her kids her hubby)...her wonderful camaraderie that she shares with her mom....and all in a funny...comical...yet in a witty and a philosophical way...

tete-a-tete: Koochi Koochi Koo

tete-a-tete: Koochi Koochi Koo

Koochi Koochi Koo

Yes aforementioned is the name which was decided unanimously!!....gals(ula and ala) were really ecstatic for having him over and had decided the name much earlier till we got him home a night prior!!!....yes we are talking about our new entrant in the family...just a few weeks old puppy... our Koochi Koochi Koo!!...a Pomeranian that he is!!!..

So the previous evening soon after clearing my desk and winding up the work in office... approached my Boss's door to pick up the highly anticipated puppy whose arrival was eagerly awaited!!!..... So it's actually like reliving my kid old days...days when I was so passionate about dogs that while raising them up everyone at home was told to address them as "my kids" and not as dogs... I guess it's all about having it in the genes!!!....be it my Maternal Grandpa or my Pop all had been passionate dog lovers!!!...same goes for my gals as well...my little one though is a lot crazier like me!!!....like I'm told I used to brush my dog's teeth and used to have my food from his plate!!.....This time though it's about my upper story three bedroom pad in which I have moved in recently unlike my paternal bungalow where space wasn't much of the issue...so poor Koochi Koochi Koo is restricted to one room ONLY which has been allotted to him....

That's it!!!....Koochi after having his stomach full of milk I make sure I take him outdoors for obvious reasons... immediately I did the same this morning since it was his first night home!!!....

So today he must have spent his whole day within the four walls of his room and that's what troubles me as well...and it makes really essential for him to spend some time in the open and to have some sunlight and fresh air in the morning and some time in the evening as well!!....but not to worry my gals would have rushed to play with him soon after coming back from school..that way he musn't have felt desolated and left alone!!!

Hardships Never Fails.....

You think life is being cruel to you when you face some hardships in life??..in fact it's on the contrary!!!...it teaches you something in the end of the day and that's what life is all about!!!.... We need to face the wind boldly...confidently...take on the reigns and have the full control over the situation rather then being controlled!!....also it's all about staying positive and having a belief in the Supreme Power that whatever He does...He does for our betterment of course!!...thus having a belief in this policy will not only make our sail in the stormy sea a smooth one but also it will function as an anchor!!...our support system for survival in the turbulent waters!! Haven't we read it somewhere that Life is a journey??.....so all these Hardships are the Lessons we learn along the way and it's all about Wisdom which we can only pass to our next generation till we gain something from them.... Personal experiences are our biggest Teachers in life and not are those books!!!...ones which are full of preaching and teachings of other people's life and their saga to success and glory! So what's the gist to all the aforementioned tale??? That is not to get panic stricken too easily also no matter how negative the situation is always remain positive and never lose Faith!!

tete-a-tete: A Kiss of Reality...a rugged tale

tete-a-tete: A Kiss of Reality...a rugged tale

A Kiss of Reality...a rugged tale

Reality check of ""good things suppose to come"" like they said they would..did they??....nopes they didn't.......just travel in Indian Rails for once..that too in a General Class and that's where exactly you'll be kissed with the hard core reality for sure!!... ...forget the interiors of rural belt where there aren't any proper bridges to cross the river in the time of floods....electricity and sanitation is a far fetched thing besides proper schools or hospitals....But still we keep creating ruckus and hoopla over the poor quality of food provided in Rajdhani and in Shatabdi Express!!!... Did we ever gave this a thought as to how a poor travel in a General Class??...or else how they manage their daily chores deep inside the rural belt?? If ever you travel in a General Class..the picture will be just like that of chickens being overly and poorly stuffed in a poultry van....where a reall challenge is to pave your way thorough!!!....hang on that's not all ..once after jumping over the vacant seat and occupying it after a great struggle (like two hungry dogs over a piece of bone would)...forget going to the loo when travelling alone!!!...once you leave!!!...it's gone...gone forever!!! I was lucky enough to be blessed with this kiss when I was travelling to Indore a day prior on an official tour...more then that I was even more lucky to have someone inside the compartment to hold a place for me since I had some of my staff form the office traveling along who boarded the train a station before... Well I would lie if I say I didn't enjoy the kiss throught my travel that kept me entertained and engrossed!!... where my creative mind was making a mental note of each!!...like on one side(on a side lower birth) there was a newly wed couple interlocked in each other's arms as if the the groom protecting his bride from the monster like mob who he thought would gobble his pretty and vulnerable wife..more funny was the fact when she caught me scoffing thinking I was eyeing her beauty(or winking at her)..hahaahaha...but didn't my cherubic charm confirmed the fact that am married already?? On the other side sitting just opposite to me was an old man who had an anecdote to tell for each station the train stopped...Like in Maksi(a small junction on Indore-Delhi line and near to Holy City of Ujjain) and in a typical bhopali tone...air passing between his front teeth (as he wasn't wearing any dentures)..""when I was a cool dude and travelling alone once..in night there were lot of robberies taking place here..I made a run till that police station you see there....a guy I befriended told that those bunch of lads standing near the gate were conspiring to loot me..who then told me to run till this police station..and miya I ran like hell!!"" I was just wondering for a while then as to how mobile has taken over and how the technology has killed the creativity where in my childhood days our storybook or novel would travel with us as well.....but now the Next Gen would always be seen with their head bend down and fondling with their mobile!!...like a day prior during my whole four hours of travel I noticed a young lad with ear plugs on playing with his mobile...I minded my own business though wanting to tell him to give his ears and eyes a rest!!!...
Also the whole journey made me ponder as to how for us food plays an integral part...the whole compartment was filled with that typical tempting aroma of pickle and food and my mind started playing the guessing game when and where somebody must have been famished and who must've started delving into the Tiffin his wife must have packed for him...""hmmmm!!..it has to be a mango pickle with cauliflower and potatoes"' thought I because there is always a typical scent of mustard oil in a pickle and the smell of cauliflower when sauteed is also easily identifiable...yes!! I can easily guess from the aroma as to what is being cooked and the aroma had always fascinated me more then the food... well I love that also!!....which reminds me of the fact that how a typical Indian when enjoying his fav snack or meal would always make a slurping sound chewing and burping out loudly!!!... here also filling my compartment with the echoes...
Alright so where were we??!!....remember that old gentleman without dentures full of anecdotes for each station to tell??....well it was Dewas now a big junction this time and here the story looked quite inspired by a Pakistani Drama(Pyare Afzal) which even I was glued to very fondly..so he started blabbering...""Miya that time when I was a collegiate we didn't have these emails and whatsapp what you have now..so I and bunch of my friends exchanged each other's addresses promising to write a letter.... here in Dewas since I was out stationed I gave my address of one Sajid bhai...even he was Sajid"" said he!!... so I guessed this gentleman was also Sajid as he didn't introduce himself as yet..""then what happened Sajid Bhai"" queried I...very anxiously!!...""so he had a shop and i was his tennant and one of my friends was very eager to learn urdu and used to write me letters in one..which I came to learn much later on...that Sajid Bhai thought all the letters were for his beloved and beautiful wife as they were in urdu and so very poetic....so Sajid Bhai pulled my friend to court and later I came to know those letters were for me and that friend was later exonerated once I presented myself in the court and was his witness which proved his innocence of course!!!"""...this gentleman really had us intriguingly glued to his story each time he told us one..taking breaks in between always..while exhaling the smoke or taking a puff!!
So had an experience of a lifetime while enjoying this Kiss of Realty that I shall cherish for years to come....and never once did i crave for an air conditioned coupe of a First Class...where after shutting the door all we do is block this heavenly exposure and entertaining world outside!!!

You never would know....

Life takes you in it's grip and pulls you in it's current...forcing you to flow accordingly...one not realizing ever!!!...as to how the time has passed by... Now since have become a parent myself am braced already with all the nuances of parenting and with the fact that responsibilities never ends nor they ever will....the running about has started and it's just a warm-up....from post child's birth the relationship with doctor will never end till five years to come..then comes the stage with parents meet in the school....campus/counselling...admissions in colleges for higher studies..but all doesn't end there!!!....hang on!!...then comes the toughest part which is to see your children settled and to play around with their babies clinging on your back...to fulfill that yearn comes the matrimony part and the groom/bride hunting!!!.... Grandparenthood comes very late where you are relaxed in a way that you don't have to bother for daily chores like going to office and all the jazz....in fact it's an important aspect in one's life and the stage which is the most blessed one..it's here only where one has stopped all the running about.....it's the stage where you lay back and relax...But!!!...isn't this a bit too late??...keeping India in mind where a responsibility of a parent never ends....it's here where the West takes the lead...in a way like a bird for an example which allows it's offspring to fly away soon after it learns to spread it's wings and face the wind...but in the east it's just on the contrary.. thus erupts the family issues...interference from both home and in-laws....where in this case the bride never wanting to leave her past at her parent's home and not wanting to move ahead instead..like our culture expects her to be...accommodating...but how will she be??....where...all the freedom is for a daughter and restrictions only for a bride!!!...And that's where a groom's life and the marriage goes for a toss!!!....Just like you knead a dough at home!!!.....where the poor chap gets kneeded by his wife and mom's tussle!!...for not being able to strike a healthy balance between the two!!!!..... ....So it's just not about a relationship of a couple!!!...but relationship in a whole!!....if we want it to prosper...we need to give some Space for it to blossom and reap beautiful results!!...we should always remember the fact that too much close proximity with anyone will only tend to make the situation and the relationship more suffocating..only making things more worse!!!.....like I was watching a programme on Channel V ""Gumrah"" ....the episode was about a nagging and an over protactive mother not being able to strike a right chord with her daughter..later she elopes with a guy whom she thought was her soulmate but was actually a gold digger who sells her off in a brothel...though she escapes...tries to end her life but is rescued in the end where both mother and daughter realising their own mistakes..... So that's where the catch lie....Space and to Strike A Right Balance...

Monday Blues and the Hoopla

Don't they say ""nothing is good or bad...it's only your thinking that makes it so"" Similarly there's nothing as ""Monday Blues""....unless and until we love our work and don't hide under the desk when the going gets tough....no issues..in fact...instead there should always be an excitement to start your day afresh so why should Monday be excluded then?? So my mantra to stay happy and contended is to love what you do and do what you love. I really envy those who make their living through their hobby..like a musician....A poet...An author...A writer....these people are so lucky really..but also few in the percentage....but still v could start loving the work we do and can always carry on with our hobbies side by side........and that's where exactly the catch lie.....Don't make your life so miserable by stop doing the things we thought we couldn't have lived without...A cousin of mine...whom I was chatting with once...not long time back...had said then that in this fast moving and hectic life movies doesn't fit in!!....and it's just not him...the story is same for all the youth in this era so busy in making a life that have fallen prey to all the mental stress and the heart diseases!!!
In fact It's so therapeutic to indulge conscientiously in what we love doing that it actually work as a cure and remedy to all our ailments and the mental stress..also it worka as an excellent stress buster!!!
