Luck or Something Like It

My take:-
A wonderful read especially the stories behind each song u loved and grew up listening to.... Like for an example a beautiful duet ""When Two Fools Collide"" saw an inception of a life long friendship with Dottie West and many other duets with her... "Lucille" a single of Kenny that skyrocketed his career which incidentally also shared his mom's name making her confused thinking that the song was based on her life....then eventually Kenny had to clarify that she has seven kids and not four!!... and that he hasn't penned the song but somebody else...over the phone.... ""Islands In The Stream"" was penned by Berry Gibs especially for Kenny but since it required high pitched singing which was beyond Kenny's forte..Dolly Parton was roped in then to make it a duet...which saw yet another beautiful friendship blooming soon after...the song was a smash hit in Kenny's creer...and the camaraderie with Dolly is still going strong over the years.... ""Lady"" brought Lionel Ritchie into Kenny's life and are like soul brothers eversince.....soon after Lady was a platinum hit Kenny bought his first boat in which Lionel along with Kenny and his team sailed till Bahamas...enroute how they got engulfed in a huge storm and how they were gifted a second lease of life after escaping death and the cops while sailing back thinking they were drug paddlers was a wonderful anecdote to read really... ""We Are The World"" was actually suppose to be sung and penned by Michael Jackson and Stevie wonder but Stevie was preoccupied elsewhere telling he can't write the lyrics but will sing the song later....so Lionel Ritchie was roped in then....A simple discussion on philanthropy work between Kenny and Henry Bellafonte gave birth to this beautiful song mentioned aforesaidly...for this song in particular the idea and credit to bring all the top notch singers under one roof goes to legendary producer Quincy Jones!!! I strongly believe one should only read Auto/Biography of that person in particular..whom u have adored or worshipped over the years....only then u can enjoy the saga he wants to tell.... And Kenny has done a commendable job jotting down his own thoughts earnestly and that too with full honesty....A Memoir with Kenny's lovely sense of humour will keep u grinning and engrossed all the time!!....But also it has it's emotional moments too!!...like that of Dottie West's sad end..her low phase and her death in a car crash...And Kenny's mom..Lucille's sad demise!!
